    Windows Easy Transfer

I am trying to transfer my files and settings from old WinXP to new Win7, using Windows 7 Easy Transfer. The wizard is pretty straightforward and all went well until I clicked Transfer. I got an error message that said not enough disk space. (It did not say which PC.) The transfer size is 32 GB, but I have 550 GB available on Win7. The XP PC has only 10 GB free, but why should that matter? I am using the network transfer option on my home network.
And yes, the Win7 PC is marked as the "new" computer.

Found the solution on Microsoft Answers forum. I needed to use the Advanced button on the old computer in order to Deselect the old D-drive. That drive had a lot of archived files which WET was trying to copy to the much smaller Restore D-Drive on my new Win 7 PC. After that correction WET transferred everything in about 90 minutes. Whoopee.
I hope this helps others trying to use WET.

Howard, thanks for the solution. I'm sure over time many more will be making similar transfers.
