Question What are your thoughts on Microsoft and Skype?

What are your thoughts on Microsoft and its new 8.5 billion dollar baby, Skype? In particular, Microsoft apparently now has a patent on recording, of all things, Skype conversations (and other VOIP as well). With this information in hand, does anybody plan to continue using Skype knowing that Microsoft will be recording conversations? Isn't is bad enough that the spy agencies were (contemplating) doing this, to now know that Microsoft WILL be doing this (recording such conversations)?

SIP is an IETF protocol. As such, it is neither open source nor closed source. How the software is licensed in which the protocol is used determines open or closed source. Please keep on topic. If you are here to just bash Microsoft please go elsewhere.
