Ungroup Printers in "Devices and Printers"

I know about the registry hack to create a new "Printers" folder that lists all installed instances of my printers, but does anyone know of a way to Get Win7 to "ungroup" the printers in the "Devices and Printers" folder ? I save multiple configurations (hi-rez, lo-rez, labels-tray) for each printer, but Win7 only displays one entry until I right-click and then I see the "pips" indicating multiple printers. I'd rather see each individual instance in the "Devices and Printers" folder.

Try giving each instance of the printer a diff name and install each config as a new printer. After installing as a new printer, go back and change the configuration on each one and save it. Name them-- Hi-rez Printer, Lo-rez Printer etc.

See the post marked as an aswer at Multiple Instances of a Printer for the reason why it happens. It implies that if assign a different port to each instance of the printer then each instance should show up correctly.
