    website doesn't look right in FF4, FF5, IE8 or Maxthon 3

    Hello all.

    Help.

Photobucket.com suddenly looks like this (this was the last image I manged to post successfully at Photobucket before it went completely dolally on me)...

...and I can't put it right.

I've been through the stickies and other posts in forums all over the web till I'm blue in the face. No matter what I try nothing improves.

All was well till a little while ago and I know of nothing I changed that would have triggered this problem.

Not all links, pictures etc. work properly

The CSS seems to be all wrong and not recognised.

Any ideas what I need to do to fix it?

    Few points >>

    1. This problem ONLY happens on Photobucket; other image hosting sites work OK (flickr, ImageShack etc.)

    2. I get the same problem on ALL browsers, e.g. FF4, FF5, IE8 and Maxthon 3

    3. I have tried all the following several times and none of them fix it:

    Clearing all caches
    Using Ccleaner
    Creating a new FF4 / FF5 profile
    Removing all cookies, passwords etc.
    Using FF4 / FF5 in safe mode
    Removing / reinstalling FF4, FF5 & IE8

Any thoughts you have would be much appreciated.

I occasionally get sites that start like this, but a refresh (F5) usually fixes the problem. Photo Bucket looks fine when I open it.

    I use IE9 right now.

Thanks, Ted but F5 doesn't work for me.

Neither does Ctrl+shift+R or any form of "refresh" or "reload avoiding cache" etc.

IE9 doesn't work on XP so I can't use it (wonderful decision that was, eh?)

My default browser is FF but, as I said earlier, Photobucket doesn't work on that browser either.

    Any more thoughts?

    Cheers.

I'm not sure what's going on with yours. It does not make sense that only this web site does this. Weird! I was going to say that your problem may be related to XP and the browsers. Sorry, can't provide any more assistance.

Are you accessing it directly or through a bookmark?

    Hi ruirib

I did think about the interaction with favorites/bookmarks so I don't use them.

I have been trying to avoid loading the page from any data that might already be stored on my PC.

I open a fresh Google home page start, manually type the word "Photobucket" into the search, it autocompletes then I go to the first hit in the search results.

One thing I do notice is that autocomplete finishes the site name as I am typing it.

If I stop the autocomplete (?how do I do it) would that fix it?

(Probably not but I thought I'd ask anyway)

    Thanks.

I will tell you what I was thinking. I was having an issue with a site, which basically was not loading the css files and really didn't care much about it, as I use it very infrequently. Today I went there and noticed that my bookmark was very long with lots of parameters. I decided to try to write the URL directly and, bingo, the page loaded correctly.

I suggest that you type photobucket.com directly in your browser. Do not use google search, as you can't be sure about the URL that is being returned. If you don't want to type it, just click here.

@ Roderunner...yes, I do and I have managed to send them an email via the website to ask them what they believe is going wrong. No reply yet received yet though.

I have also tried to register a new account as an experiment but the process freezes part way through due to the fact that the site won't load properly in the first place.

@ruirib...I click on your link, copied & pasted your tying into the browser and typed the site address directly into Firefox.

    Nothing improves.

    The page still loads incorrectly.

Sorry guys but I'm still stuck.

I still think there must be some duff data on my PC somewhere that the browser is calling on when it tries to load Photobucket.

I just can't track it down.

    Any more ideas?

    Hi oddjob,
Go to Photobuckets site, then on the keyboard, tap 'PrtSc' open 'Paint' click paste, save as .jpeg. Now post your new image here after reading:- Attachment 28545 it will help in stopping the need to use PhotoBucket.

Sorry Roderunner but I'm not with you.

What "new image" do you need to see?

The one in the OP shows you what it was like and nothing much has changed. This is a pic of the site as it looks now.

I suppose you have deleted all temporary internet files and such? Likely you did, but remembered to ask anyway.

Yes, done that. And the "and such"!

Did it with Ccleaner numerous times along with all the other things listed in the OP.

Perhaps we can't see the problem because we are using Win 7, at least I know I am and think both RR and Rui are as well. Perhaps someone still using XP could step in here with some insight.

Hope so. That's why I posted the question here in the XP forum.

Thanks anyway for the suggestions so far.
