    Sharing an internet connection

I have two PCs networked using an old HP 24port hub. One PC (Windows ME) acts as server and is downstairs. The other (Windows 98) is a client and is upstaris. When I establish a dial-up connection on the server downstairs all is well. Both PCs can access the internet and each others shared files, printer etc. However, if I don't establish a dial-up connection downstairs, the upstairs PC can not connect to internet. I have not been able to establish a dial-up connection to my ISP from the upstairs PC. While I am getting a good workout running up and down the stairs, I would like to be able to access internet without running downstairs to establish the dial-up connection to my ISP.
    Any ideas?
