    ACCESS 97 with XP

am trying to install access97 on a new (to me) XP machine. Won't work - can't find VBA332.dll. I can find that file on my old XP machine. Don't laugh - they're paid for... Any thots?

Is the error happening when you just try to run Access 97, or is the error happening with a particular database?

Why are you installing Access97, why not go for a later version of Office?

Happens when accessing Access. However, in looking further, I think there is something else on the installation I'm missing. I'll try to pursue that, then return to the discussion. Thanx for the input.

Basically I'm a cheapskate, and have successfully re-installed 97 before. That install has done everything I needed. Also see my quick reply the hutchison about trying a different direction. Thanx for the input.

    ACCESS 97 with xp

success - turns out I hadn't fully cleared the old install. Used Revo Uninstaller to do so, then re-installed. Loaded like a charm. Thanx to all who made input....

    What's the expression? "Penny-wise and pound-foolish?"

It's time to let go. If you have clients who need Access, you can now download a free copy of the runtime version of Access2007 and Access2010 from Microsoft. Even if you have Access2003, they can still run your database. If not, bite the bullet and get the full version of one of them.
