Seems self explanatory to me. IE is attempting to protect you from the bad guys - probably won't work, bad guys are very clever.
What happens if you load the page in Firefox/Chrome?

    cheers, Paul

Cross site scripting Explanation by Wikipedia. I would suspect the newspaper site does not take security quite seriously enough at times.

I figured it was something no good..
I have Active x turned on in IE9 and only turn it off when I need to...

I don't use FF or Chrome so can't tell you if it happens there...

This is the same local news paper site that I was getting those 'you're infected' pop-ups a while back...

I'm just kinda curious as to what exactly is causing it to happen..

It means there is something in that site, from another site (an ad or some other thing javascript based), that's doing something it shouldn't. The fact that you are getting a warning, is a sign that IE is actually protecting you. If you are to do anything, you should contact the site owner and letting him know about it.

I also have Maleware bytes pro running real time...

I really try to keep things locked down...It's been years since my last infection because I am real careful and only close suspicious things with Task Manager...

    It's a jungle out there...
