    New modem recommendation for IPv6?

My ISP (Comcast) is recommending that I upgrade my modem to a modem that supports DOCSIS 3.0. Are there any recommendations? Price, performance etc? I currently use an RCA DCM 305R tied to a D-Link DIR-655. This setup works fine. Should I just leave it be?

Comcast should upgrade your,Modem for FREE! As far as your DIR-655 goes the latest firmware will support the IPv6.I know for a fact the DIR-655 supports the IPv6 because that's what I'm running now. With the latest firmware of course.

You do not need IPV6, but your ISP may. If your ISP requires IPV6 it is up to them to provide the hardware.

The modem should always be supplied by the ISP. Are you sure they meant the modem or are you perhaps using a router as well and that is what they meant? In my limited experience with Comcast (my daughter used them for a while) they did supply the modem.
