    Macrium Reflect Free

The latest version, as of July 1, is vs 4.2.3775. A week or so prior to July 1, I downloaded vs 4.2.3141, but have not, as yet, installed it. Can anyone tell me what changes were made to the current edition (haven't been able to find that info)? Would it be wise to just download the newer edition?

Since you haven't installed your original download yet I would just discard it and download/install the newer version.

    Nomad,
Hello... I'm going from memory when i did the "Update" ..First there was no change log for this latest release... have no idea why.. But i noticed when i did the update, the changes were made known ... Something to do with using the drive letter B: and also having to "burn" a new "Recovery Disk" And an annoying screen that asks you if you want to "Upgrade" to the pay for version 5. That's the best that i can remember.... Regards Fred

PS: Still works and is a great program....despite the "nag screen"

I would prefer to just install the version I previously downloaded, hence this question.....are newer versions installed over the older version, or must the older version be uninstalled?

Most apps will install over quite successfully. On the flip side it only takes a couple of minutes to uninstall the old version. Generally I just install over for updates, whereas a new version (i.e. v2 to v3) I generally uninstall old to install new.

I guess my question would be if you have not installed the original download yet why would you be against downloaded the newer version and installing that rather than installing the old version then worrying about upgrading???

    Nomad,
Hello... You can do this however you want...you can stay with the older version, if that is what you want. Or install the new over the old (update).. Pick which version that you want . You can get all versions from "FileHippo"for Macrium Reflect Macrium Reflect Free Regards Fred

    Hello Nomad,

Some software is better uninstalled before installing a newer version. But I have never had a problem installing the latest Macrium Reflect Free over my current version.

I would simply install the new version over the old. If you get problems, just uninstall, and reinstall the new version.
