    Win7's no-reformat, nondestructive reinstall

Win7′s no-reformat, nondestructive reinstall by Fred Langa is a damn good article. But I’ve a problem. My PC came with Windows Home Premium 64-bit plus the installation DVD. Subsequently I upgraded to Win 7 Professional. I need to reinstall, so I was thrilled to read Fred’s artilcle. So I followed Fred’s procedure using my Win 7 Home Premium DVD but after I chose the upgrade option the system told me that I can’t do a ‘downgrade’ from Pro to Home Premium and that I must do a full reinstall.
Does anyone know of a workaround?

Thank you ruirib! I'm having difficulty getting access to a file on the installation DVD, but I will keep trying.

This may be of interest to you, as well: http://codesagar.com/content/guides/win7download.html. Just found it in another post and can be useful in your case, too.

I've reinstalled successfully now. I couldn't edit the Win DVD so I copied it to a hard drive and fiddled around and finally deleted the ei.cfg file. Reinstallation then was easy. I've saved the code_sagar site in case I need it. Hell I wish I'd known about WindowsSecrets years ago!

Thank you ruirib - your advice is much appreciated!
