Smart art and macros?
I am trying to create a flowchart/form. I am attempting to use SmartArt>Hierarchy (in Word and/or Excel 2010). I need to place a button/Macro that will Add Shape Below to add another block(s). For some reason, I can not record the macro. Anyone have any ideas?
I was thinking maybe keystroke events or something as a work around. The key presses required are:
1. Select a SmartArt Flowchart Block <--- Select the block to insert a new block below
2. Alt <--- Activate Ribbon Hotkeys
3. JS <--- Open SmartArt Tools Design Tab
4. O <--- Add Shape
5. W <--- Add Shape Below
If I could record that sequence, maybe it would allow the creation of the macro with SmartArt? Any help...

As far as I can tell, you can't record a macro from actions done on Smart Art.
What about the commands that are already available on the Ribbon? - with the Smart Art object selected, click on 'Design' under 'Smart Art Tools' on the Ribbon - you should have a dropdown with options like this:
