Hyperlinks have started giving a "general failure" message

I use Outlook 2010 (Windows 7 Home Edition). All of a sudden, hyperlinks in my emails (inward and outward) are failing with the attached message.

NOTE 1: If you copy the hyperlink and pasted it into the browser, it works.

NOTE 2: I recently (foolishly?) upgraded to IE9. Bit silly, really, as I normally use Firefox.

Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Yes, all links in all emails, inward and outward.

What are the settings in Tools->Options->Programs, in Internet Explorer for default browser?

I checked, and IE was not the default browser (as expected). As an experiment, I made IE the default browser and the links in Outlook emails started working! I then made Firefox the default browser and they still work, so the problem now appears to be fixed.

    Thanks for your help.

Great. I was expecting that, actually . A simple change there seems fix this type of issue.
