You might simplify your life by simply adding "Microsoft Access" to the beginning of the title bar - that will prevent Word from always opening a new instance of Access when you start the merge.

It is possible to set the TitleBar property in code - if you search on the RefreshTitleBar method in Visual Basic Help, you should find an example of code which sets the AppTitle property. You may not need to create the property if you have already set it in the Tools/Startup dialog box.

Since you seem to be doing lots of Word merges from Access, you might want to look at the latest Access Archon column (#92) if you haven't already.

What is an Access Archon? Where can I find the column (#92)? I've found the example. I tried to use it but it gives me an error saying that I don't have the permission to use MySysdb. This is a professonal programs add-in so they might have restricted me from doing that.
You've mentioned about adding the "Microsoft Access" to the begginning of the tittle bar, would you mind telling me what tittle bar I should add this to?

    THANX

Sorry - I presumed you knew about the Lounge and the Watch columns. Go to www.wopr.com and pick Woody's Access Watch (or WAW) and you will see the most recent column. You can also have these emailed to you. They usually contain some good tips. You can also see them at Helen Feddema.s web site and pick up lots of useful code and tips. She and her columns are known as the Access Archon - her web site is http://www.helenfeddema.com/ Hope this helps
