Problem with side-by-side configuration

Hi there, can somebody please help with a little problem with 'side by side' configuration? I use a product called Twonky to handle my and share my media around my home. This includes watching the media i have on my pc that i then can watch on my tv. Everything was fine but now i am getting a message 'the application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log for more information'. I know where the log is but what to do with this info is a little baffling. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the product to no avail. Any help on this message and ultimately getting my Twonky going again would be much appreciated.

Thanks for that Joe, but for someone like me just replying to this message is a bit technical (no i'm not that bad), but that stuff is way way beyond my level of comprehension. I've started to read it, along with the comments from others, and i'll try to take some of it on board but i'm not very hopeful.

Have you tried a System Restore back to a time when it worked?

Hi Joe, i didn't try system restore because i was unsure when this might have happened. I had Twonky to automaticly start when Windows did and didn't watch any programs for a while on my tv. One day i thought i'll check what version this is and see if they are any updates. After clicking on it to open it that's when i saw that problem. Thinking it was fixable by installing the newer version that's what i did, but it didn't. I've since done so many things on here that using system restore just to bring back Twonky would surely mess with all my new stuff. I'm still going through that other stuff on that site you sent but so far it's a bit of a headache. I downloaded the some stuff but i think i'd already done that. Anyway not to worry.

Perhaps uninstalling and reinstalling Twonky would help. I don't know if all your settings will be retained. Perhaps a visit to their forums might be beneficial.

Hi Joe, sorry for the slow response. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it once but the same problem persists. I'll head over to Twonky and see if any one else is having the same problem. I don't know whether installing Twonky to my second hard drive and running from there will fix the problem but i'll do that as a matter of course and then at least i can say i've tried it.
