    This may seem crazy

And I know people are saying "No Chuck, it isn't crazy, but now, you..." Yea I know. But...

I have a Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 6000. One of the buttons is by default set to turn on the "Magnify."

Yet it seems that almost without fail, if I leave my desk for any length of time, when I come back, the screen is magnified.

Now, I can just turn it off when it happens, but it would be nice to know the "Why" just in case there is in fact something else going on as well.

Is there any kind of way to figure this out? Probably not, huh?

Syb, yes, but I think/thought that the problem started prior to loading that -- last week. But THAT is certainly easy to test. If it IS that, why?

    Syb;

I went back and looked. The program I had seen was from PC Mag, and called appropriately "Mouse Jiggle", meant to keep your computer awake.

But runs "portable" and I don't run it normally. I have it "in case." But I did check, and it doesn't shoe up anywhere. Then, as it happens, I went to put my grandson to bed, maybe gone 7-8 minutes, and when I came back, sure enough, the screen was magnified.

I hate crap that seems to be inexplicable!

I checked all the programs and processes, and nothing seems to "be there."

    What a putz!

Use an app such as What's In Sartup to see if an app is loaded that is magnifying your system.

CW, I have the same mouse and don't use it now because the left button double clicks...

If you like, tell me which button you have set to magnify and I'll try it here on my computer and see if the magnify problem is a common issue..

Joe these are only a couple weeks old, but that surely is simple enough. I'll do it.

    Thanks,

Have you added or moved any other wireless devices? Those could cause interference.

I had to order a new one today because that one went bad and I'm using a Microsoft intellimouse Explorer now that the left click button on this one went also...

I bought the 6000 because I figured a better one would last longer but no such luck...It is always the left button that starts double clicking instead of single clicking..
And the 6000 is an expensive mouse...

I called MS on the last day of the warranty and they replaced it with Arch Touch, which I hate, because they don't make the 6000 anymore..

I'm gonna sell the arch touch on Ebay..It retails for about 89.00..

Anyway, hope you get your problem worked out...

Well, the good news is that it isn't critical to operations, just a pain. So, we'll see...I Amy have to go mouse-hunting as well.
