    taskbar clutter and duplicates?

Hi. I haven't been on a PC for a while now since getting a G5 but I've recently acquired a used PC laptop to do mobile recording.
It's a stock Inspiron rebuild running XP Pro/sp3.
I'm still clumbsy on a laptop and my thumbs drag on the touchpad so I have made a jumbled mess and duplicate My Documents "menus".
    Check out the photobucket:
Once upon a time I had a similar but not as bad mess. I expanded it on purpose to see what's going on so don't think that I'm completely stupid, please. Just slightly stupid! LOL!
As usual, Microsoft is anemic for support and treading thru their damned "help" is ludicrous. That's why I like Windows Secrets. They hate Microsoft but love windows.

    LuvXP,

Welcome to the lounge as a poster!

It looks like you have several toolbars enabled on the taskbar.
If you right click on an empty area of the taskbar you can UNLock it if it's locked.
Then you can uncheck the toolbars you don't need like Documents.
May the Forces of good computing be with you!

Also you should be able to grab the top of the taskbar and drag it back toward the bottom of the screen to make it smaller.
