How can I import address book from OE to Thunderbird

OK, I have OE on an XP computer. I have Thunderbird on a W7 computer. I can export my OE address book to a flashdrive. But Thunderbird does not let me specify the path of the OE address book.

    Any suggestions?

In Thunderbird go to TOOLS/IMPORT and you should see the address book there to import.

No, it's not there. Remember, OE is on a different computer. I can save the OE address book to a flash drive. But Thunderbird does not give me the option to browse and find the address book.

When I switched from XP to W7 I used PCmover to migrate everything over and I imported it that way but that doesn't help you any...

Unless someone else here knows how to do it I would suggest you check out the Thunderbird help forums..

    Sorry..

Install T-Bird temporarily on the XP machine.
    Import the OE address book
Export the T-Bird address book to LDIF format on your flash drive.
Import the LDIF file into the Thunderbird address book on the Win 7 machine.

Typically, your .wab address book in XP must be exported in an .csv file to be imported into Windows 7.
That's with the MS email clients, Windows mail or Windows Live Mail. It may work also with Thunderbird
    although I've not tried it.

    But give that a try.

    This worked perfectly.

I had googled and tried all kinds of suggestions to no avail.

    Thanks!
