graphics in email (OE 5.5)

When I send an email with a graphic in the body some folks that receive it can not view the graphic.
They tell me all they see is a box thingie.
I am on DSL.
I was wondering if this is on my end the other end or both and if there is a cure.
Thanks,
Stevo

Thanks Leif
I viewed this I am not sure this is it.
I am sending the graphic in the body of the email and the person that receives is not able to view it.
Maybe this can not be done.
Maybe it can only be done as a attachment?

What email client are they viewing your emails in?
Is it consistent? (i.e. always the same recipients.)

If it is hotmail for client, it is always as an attachment ...have no idea why that happens, but when I send .gif in emails, I always make sure they have OE or other email addys that can receive as regular email.
Most of my friends have OE...others have hotmail and they don't mind the 'attachments'.

Thanks Lonnie,
The last email I sent was to someone who used yahoo.
But as I thought I may have to send the fun as an attachment or both. (just in case)

I learned how to do .gifs in email right here ...then I taught my daughter, my girlfriend (who now uses them in daily newsletters), and I even 'taught' newsgroups how to do them! I love sending emails to my 3 grandsons(6-3-2)(groan AOL)...especially with Taz or LooneyTunes train,etc...they 'keep' them in their own 'folder'.They never did tell me if AOL email is 'regular' or 'attachment'...have to ask them.
I even send .gif emails to my IRA man - loves them too!
The ones with McScrooge counting really gets to him.

Oops...I have cable, so it must be the 'email software'.

Re: graphics in email (OE 5.5)

I send a bunch-o-.gifs also but it seems like they mainly work the best as an attachment.
They are fun, my little running dino is one of my favorites.
But I like to include them in the email like these cool Smilies.
I have DSL
What email software do you use?
