    Driver Updates

Has anyone used Slim Drivers (SlimWare Utilities, Inc.) freeware? If so, is it a viable product?

    Welcome to the Lounge!!

I have not used this program. This is the first I've seen it mentioned.

Generally, unless there is a good reason to update drivers I'd recommend you leave them alone. Why do you need to update your drivers? Is your system misbehaving? New hardware?

    Joe,
I agree with your comment on drivers in general, but my reason for checking for updates is at the recommendation of S.Bradley (3/13/11 edition of W.S). She suggested doing this prior to installing W7 SP1.

    Jim,

I've used SlimDrivers and found it only somewhat useful. Many of the updates it points to will not install with the message that a newer driver version is already installed. YMMV. I'd also like to extend a welcome to the Lounge.

I would visit the manufacturers web site and see if they have newer drivers that actually fix anything. Otherwise "if it ain't broke..."

    cheers, Paul
