Question Firefox 6 - beta or final?

Is the latest FF 6 a beta version or a new release? I have one desktop computer (XP)
and I downloaded it and it said beta after I installed. Most of my extensions did
not work and I don't want to install it on my Win 7 machine if it is beta.

    Thanks

    Jerry

Firefox 6 has been officially released as of yesterday. Where does it say beta?

It doesn't say beta. But half my plug ins don't work with the new version yet. Their accelerated releases have caused real problems for add on developers I think.

Yes, the more casual extensions developers are having a hard time keeping up. Usually there are alternatives if you are missing a critical function.

Weird the night I updated it it said Beta on upper left side (Firefox beta 6) I used it for a while
and then shut down computer. The next day my granddaughter turned in on and I checked
it later and it said FF 6. I know I didn't imagine it but I guess I'll call it a senior moment.
Sorry I bothered everyone but I thought I saw it.

    Thanks

There were several beta versions of FF 6, but YES, the latest release is the formal release, not a beta.

On my older computers, I decided to stick with ver. 3.6.?? and disable auto updates. I have manually updated those PC's to 3.6.20 as of yesterday. At "File Hippo" you can download any version of FF that you may want.
    Just for reference:

All my add-ons still work best with v. 3.6

I really don't like the way that the newer versions scatter the tool-icons all across the screen.
I rearrange them to get them back together on the left side of the toolbar, where they used to be,
where I expect them to be and where I LIKE them to be.

I always hate it, when I have to FIX some new version of a program that I've used and loved for years.

I hate it, that I have to import the old original Solitaire from XP into Vista or Win-7, because the MS programmers
decided that it needed an overhaul. Cheeech!

    Cheers Mates!

The official URL for the latest Firefox 3.6.x releases is http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all-older
