Windows Update Keeps Installing the Same Update

Six times now, Microsoft Windows Update has tried to install two .NET Framework 4 updates and, according to Update History, has been successful each time, but it keeps installing those same two updates over and over. The first update occurred on 8/10/2011, and additional updates have occurred anywhere from one to four days apart through today's date, 8/19/2011.

Anyone else having this problem? Know the solution?

The updates are for the following Microsoft .NET Framework 4 KB's:
KB2533523
KB2468871

There are several approaches you could take.

1.) Uninstall and reinstall all of .NET 4. This is often the only way to clear up .NET issues.

2.) You could download the patches separately from the individual KB articles KB253323 & KB2468871, save them somewhere on your PC, and install them separately.

3.) If you really think the patches are installed correctly you could hide them. This may not help with any future patches to .NET 4.
