    Drop-down menu using conditional formatting

Is it possible to use Conditional Formatting (or something other than a macro) to have a drop-down in a cell based on the content of another cell?

e.g., I want to check a cell for text and, given the text is "Season", I want a drop-down menu in another cell (e.g., summer, fall, winter, spring). If the text isn't "Season" then I don't want to offer the drop-down at all.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

MS MVP Debra Dagliesh describes how you can make dependent drop down lists with datavalidation at http://www.contextures.com/xlDataVal02.html. I think if you need anything more "advanced" than that, you will need macro code
