    Task Scheduler doesn't run task

I have a scheduled task, rmdir "J:\Recorded TV\TempRec" /S /Q, that runs fine at the command prompt (even without being elevated) but refuses to run as a scheduled task (even when elevated). I have tried running it as a batch file and also using commands in the scheduled task but nothing seems to work. I placed "rmdir" in the "Program/script" field and "J:\Recorded TV\TempRec" /S /Q in the "Add arguments (optional)" field. I receive error codes 203 "Launch failure" and 103 "Run Failure". I have also tried placing the options in front of the path/file.

I can run scheduled tasks, I have one that displays a message but another that runs a batch file that also doesn't seem to be working.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Butch,

Put the command in an text file with the .cmd or .bat extension.
Then run the file from the task scheduler.

Changing the extension to .cmd did the trick.

    Thanks,
