Question Outlook 2010 reminders not working

    Hello there!

One of our users called today and claimed that her outlook reminders aren't working. It's not that the window pops up in the background, the reminder window itself is empty. It should be filled with at least 20 entries. We tried to create a new calender entry with reminder enabled - nothing. Reminders are enabled in options, we already tried outlook.exe /cleanreminders, we also created the profile new from scratch. Nothing so far.
Outlook is configured to connect to Exchange 2007, cache-mode disabled. The calender used by the user is the primary calender not some user-created additional calender. Office 2010 SP1 is installed.
The feature worked fine for several months, until today. I even recreated the whole user profile, since we use server-based profiles. Sadly I'm running out of options here. My google search brought forth nothing we haven't tried already.
Anybody know a solutution for this mystery?

    Help is very much appreciated.
    Philipp

I have this problem too. Installing SP1 on Office 2010 breaks Outlook Reminders when Outlook is in Online mode with an Exchange server. Either uninstall SP1 or look into the update mentioned in kb2584053: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2584053

    See Description of Outlook 2010 update:September 13, 2011.

This update fixes the following issues:
    • When you start Microsoft Outlook 2010, the application stops responding. This issue specifically occurs when you click Cancel on the credential dialog box.
    • This update improves the logging feature in Outlook 2010.
    • Outlook 2010 does not trigger reminders when it is in online mode. This issue occurs after you apply Microsoft Office 2010 Service Pack 1 (SP1).

    Online mode

I was having this same issue - it was working fine, and then all of the sudden the reminders didn't work one day. I changed Outlook from online mode to cached mode and it resolved the problem.
