Does anyone know of a utility which would be able to pull out from a running Outlook 2010 the number of message in the Sent queue and in the InBox of its PST file?
I would like to back up the PST (yes, using VSS!) when there is some form of change to these numbers...

2011-09-06 13:21VBScript and GetObject, perhaps? This assumes that the user running the script has the right to touch the running Outlook process and that the necessary ActiveX controls are available...

2011-09-06 15:35If you are looking for something that notifies you as the desktop user you can use a rule for inbox items.
There are desktop gadgets available for un-read email (see gallery.live.com). Perhaps, you could modify the javascript to display sent item counts too.
