2011-09-07 15:26I can see how this might be an issue, in many cases the download link can be so confused with site ads and other garbage links.
An extra measure of patience and attention is needed along with an AV/AM scan of all downloaded software.

2011-09-07 15:32IE 9 is very good, actually the best according to some recent tests, advising about the trustworthiness of downloaded files. This would be a good reason to use it

2011-09-07 23:53Can't be too careful these days it seems, although I don't get that page when searching for WinPatrol on cnet’s Download.com. A search comes up with this one that has separate download links.
