    Scanning software not working

I use an Epson 2480 scanner which comes with a nice suite of software including utilities for scanning, photocopying, OCR and photoprinting. Since I upgraded to Win 7 none of this software works any more. I get an error message saying Windows cannot communicate properly with the scanner.

Scanning works fine using the built-in Windows Fax and Copy Center but I sure miss the other utilities mentioned above. Can anyone suggest a way to get them working again in Win 7?

Thanks in advance for your help.

You should have checked this all out before you upgraded.
It is a common situation and well documented on the "net".
There is nothing you can do but upgrade your hardware's firmware from the manufacturer if available, go back to your old OS, or purchase new hardware.

Have you checked with Epson for updated drivers. It does appear there is no version change with drivers, just 32 Bit or 64 Bit. This is generally not a good indicator. Printer and scanner manufacturers are notorious for not developing new drivers for their products when a new OS is posted. You could try a XP virtual mode to see if you can get the scanner going, or replace the scanner.
