Recycle bin

The icon on my desktop looks to have deleted items in it, but when you look - it is empty and nothing happens to the icon when I choose 'empty deleted items' - how can I get back to a clear recycle bin icon on my desktop???

Right click on your desktop and select "Properties" from the pop up menu. In the resulting "Display Properties" dialog box click on the tab at the top labeled "Plus!". In that display check to see if your "Recycle Bin (empty)" icon has been changed to be the same as the "(full)" icon. If so, then change it back to the "(empty)" icon.

Nope - the icons are different - I am sure this is a known problem, there maybe even a keyboard fix for this - I just can't remember what it is or where to look for it!!!

You could try:
Right_click the desktop icon. Select properties.
Select 0% for all drives and 'Do not move files to the recycle bin'.
Reboot.
Reset the % to what you want.

Re: Recycle bin

I just had this the other day. Make a file, delete it, and then empty the recycle bin. It worked for me.
