red x for all .png files in IE7 after MS11-057

Deployed this IAVA recently on our network (desktops with Windows XP SP3): Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer has caused all non-privileged users to receive a red x where .png images should be in IE7 (all other images display normally ie .gif). Administrators see images normally and do not have this issue. Any one else see this? Firefox of course displays all images for all users.
No other config changes have been made.

I moved your post to its own thread since it seems to present a new issue.

Edit: It's not obvious which of the changes in the update could have affected image display: Does it help to clear the cache (Temporary Internet Files) or are there any issues with permissions on the cache folder?
