Question Additional Drive Letters from Macrium Reflect

Using Win/7...64 bit. Installed Macrium Reflect and did an image/backup of C drive and F drive. (F drive is an external USB high capacity drive.)
Everything is imaged to drive E which is a 1Terabyte drive.

After completion I went back to the restore section and looked to see if the backup contained all the folders it should have and all was fine. Now I see in My Computer, additional disk drives G: and H: which are the images of C: and F:

How do I hide the G: and H: drives and will hiding them affect anything. Are G: and H: simply mirrors of what is backed up on the E: drive or are the G: and H: drives actually doubling up on the amount of disk space used for the imaging.

If I uninstall Macrium and simply go with Windows backup, do the G: H: drive designations disappear from the My Computer list?

If I understand you correctly, you are seeing is the imaged partitions on your backup drive (which should be no great surprise). If you disconnect your backup drive, then these imaged partitions will no longer be available.

You might want to ask this question on the Macrium Forums at http://support.macrium.com/

    tscanman,
Hello... When you "Mounted" the Images to look at them, then Macrium will assign a drive letter... and you will see the Image in Windows Explorer... To "remove" it you right click the Image (windows explorer my computer) and click "Un-Mount Macrium Image " or something along that ... Regards Fred

Thanks for the help BATcher. Between your comment and the one from Fred......I'm now in a comfort zone with the product.
