    Registering Windows ME

    Hello All

I got a full version of Windows ME and I did not find the license registration for the software. Do I register on-line or what?

I think the answer is 'what'.
I belive you are not obliged to register, but MS like it if you do because they can then keep the world's postal workers in full employment as they try and sell you more products.
I don't believe I have ever registered MS software, other than XP products.
It's up to you - but if you do want to register online:

    Leif

I see so there we have the definition of Junk mail, or did I miss your point. I wanted to return Windows ME because I bought it on Oct 18th and the sales person told me wrong info about Windows XP, so I called MS and they said it is under the Money Back Guarantee program, and that I must send EVERYTHING. I did not find a registration card in the box, and I kinda panicked until I realized that I never had one, so I posted the question.

Thanks I'll check the MSKB article. BTW how do you get these articles by e-mail, is the address mshelp@microsoft.com or something else?

    Wassim,
Apologies - my somewhat cynical response was based on what I had heard from others - their experience was that by registering you were simply put on a mailing list for MS to recommend you upgrade when the next version came out.
I would say if you didn't get a card, you can't return it - and it shouldn't affect your statutory rights if you want to return the product.

I'm not sure if the email service is still available - I never used it myself. Why don't you post it as a separate question under General Windows Solutions? - you'll get a wider audience!
