    Shift key not working

My right side shift key is not working. The left one works just fine. This just started yesterday. I opened the Microsoft Ergonomic keyboard and cleaned out the dust and dirt, and I scrubbed the contacts with an alcohol soaked Q-tip. The keyboard numbers are model #E06401COMB with product #71305-584-0750196-40039 and (inside the unit) MS 755-A. Any ideas what I can do about this??? Wade

Does the key work in any program? In other words, is this a Word problem or should I slide this question over to the Hardware forum?

I suspect this is a fairly old keyboard. It might be time for a replacement.
