    Workbooks with reciprocal links crash

Here's a new one on me. I have two workbooks with links to each other. All of the sudden, when they are opened - they cause Excel to crash. In my tests so far, I haven't been able to reproduce this behaviour (though I haven't set up the same volume of links). This happens on more than one machine.

Is there some limit to the number of reciprocal links?

I'm still in the design phase of these workbooks, so it would be useful to know if anyone else has run into this.

    Catharine,

Are you inadvertently setting up a circular reference between the two workbooks?

No, I haven't done that to myself (grin). And interestingly now that I've simply saved the two workbooks under different names and they seem (cross fingers) to be stable. I'm wondering now if I had some incorrectly structured formula (not a circ ref - but sloppy) that caused memory problems.

If it becomes clearer - I will report back.
