    If you right-click the post number (above the post, on the right, opposite the poster's username), you can copy a URL which should go directly to that post.

    A more complicated approach is to click "Reply With Quote" on that post, then copy the quote and paste it in the other thread. The quote will have a tiny icon that links back to the source of the quote.

    There might be other methods as well...we've changed software several times, so it's hard to keep track of which ones still work.

    Thanks for the add'l details - here's the post you referred to: Doc batch conversion.

    One thing that might need further adjusting in that code, is the .SaveAs line that includes:

    FileFormat:=wdFormatDocumentDefault

    - that might only work properly if the user has already set the new file format to be the default for saving documents.

    (Not sure if I'm posting links to threads the 'official' or easiest way, but this seems to work: with that thread open, copy the url from the address bar in the browser. Then in the post editor window here, click on the Link button and paste the copied url. If you type some text and select it first, and then click the Link button, the link will be applied to the selected text.)

    Trying out Jefferson's suggestion - this seems like a better way to link to a specific post.
    Thanks - will start doing it that way!

    Thank you very much for the help and for the refinement of the earlier code.

    The way I do it is to find the post, copy the URL and paste it as i link.
