    XP & Palm?

I have just acquired a Palm M500 & XP. In trying to synchronise my Outlook 2000 (Internet only) with the Palm. This is not working & speaking to Palm support they say XP is not supported. Can this be true? They suggested taking it back to the shop!

    Hi,
From a quick look <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.palm.com/support/helpnotes/winxp_comp.html>here</A>, the m500 should be compatible, at least with XP Home Edition.
    Hope that helps.
    Regards,

they all say that because it was officially beta until yesterday. <img src=/S/sigh.gif border=0 alt=sigh width=15 height=15>

does the palm software allow you to use IMO mode? For some reason, i thought all the sync software needed corp for the mapi support.

OK, but I asked them today! The Palm website seems to suggest it is OK- but their support person was very non-commital. What are the disadvantages of swapping to Corporate mode in Outlook- is it possible without complex uninstalls etc? Chris. Actually-thinking about it I have no prob with Internet only mode on my laptop with Win 98- so I guess switching may not solve the problem

I have a Handspring Visor (the original Visor Deluxe -- nothing fancy). It seems to work just fine. The first time it sync'ed, I got a bunch of duplicate entries, but once I deleted them from Outlook, all was fine.

    Re: XP & Palm?

One of my colleagues has a Sony Clie, same problem the Hotsync doesn't work with Windows XP Pro, it says something about the USB driver not being supported. I contacted Sony and they said that they could not support Windows XP until Microsoft released a USB driver. I would have thought that Microsoft would have a driver already and that it is down to Sony to develop a Sony Clie driver for XP.

If anyone knows how I could get a driver let me know!

    Thanks

    Re: XP & Palm?

My VX Palm works fine under XPhe. the hotsync did default to USB but once I changed to Local Serial it fired up as expected. Installed Pocket
Mirror Professional & it worked as expected! so far so good with other palm software.

    Re: XP & Palm?

I have a Palm IIIc and recently upgraded to XP Pro and now I cannot hotsync to Outlook 2000. I am using Pocketmirror Pro as the conduit, but it refuses to recognise Outlook as the default email client. Chapura help have suggested all sorts of configuration changes but none work.
    Has anyone got any suggestions? <img src=/S/confused.gif border=0 alt=confused width=15 height=20>
