Email download failures and Outlook stops working

    Outlook 2007/Windows 7, 32 bit.

I have a number of email addresses, and when I start Outlook, I download from all of them. About 90% of the time when I start Outlook, it hangs when I down load emails from one or two specific addresses. I think that all emails from those address have been downloaded, because it always says downloading "n" of "n" emails, and "n" new emails always shown for that address, but it will not go on to the next address. If I close down and restart Outlook once or twice, it will download all emails from all addresses. Then most of the time "Outlook has stopped working and is searching for a solution". It can't find a solution and restarts and runs normally for the rest of the session

    Hi srepetto,

Outlook claims a lot of facilities, but invariably they give trouble. Like Outllook Connector and Hotmail Connector...
I suggest you move to 'Thunderbird' if you want to use many email address and only email handling software...

    Ciao

Could it be related to the problem with PayPal HTML-format messages? See: Outlook 2010 is "contacting the server for information".

I don't get Paypal messages, and the problem doesn't seem to be those described in that post. I suppose I can use my Thunderbird application if Outlook fails altogether.

What type of accounts - POP or IMAP?

Do you have SP3 for Office 2007 installed?
