Lost e-mails when changed to Office 2010

    HELP!

I was using Office 2007? The university asked that we switch to Office 2010. When I did, I lost my e-mails that were on the server (the ones that I saw every time I opened Outlook). Then, after a day or so, I saw the new e-mails that I received after I updated to Outlook 2010.

Does anyone know where those old e-mails went? I've contacted our IT department, but so far they have been no help at all.

    Thanks,

    Ben

When you installed Outlook 2010, were you able to retain other data, such as Contacts and Calendar data, or did you get a completely empty data file?

What is your account type: Exchange, POP3 or IMAP? If you have a POP3 account, under "More Settings" on the Advanced tab, what do you have for keeping mail on the server after downloading a copy?
