file not found message

Hi everyone, a strange message has started popping up randomly. Something like" windows can not find the file requested, check the path, etc. ", then without missing a beat the file opens on it's own. These are just random files, not office files or anything like that. I tried to open a jpeg today and got the message. It seems this has happened since either the last windows update or the last fire fox update. I have office 2003 if that matters. Thanks

Could be a disk problem or a software problem. Run a disk check and scan for viruses etc. My hunch is a disk problem, so a good backup is in order.

Thanks Paul,
Both Malware Bytes and Vipre scans are clear. I have googled this and it seems that many have this problem. Will run check disk.
