Pressing "Tab" to move cursor to the right

I share a computer with another person. We have separate desktops and share certain files. In one Excel file we share, she is having a problem navigating through the spreadsheet. When she presses the "TAB" key, in order for the cursor to move to the right one cell, she has to press the "TAB" key twice. Sometimes pressing this key takes her to the end of the spreadsheet. It appears that the two far right columns do the former and the columns to the left of these do the latter. When I switch over to my desktop, I have no problem navigating properly through the spreadsheet; the "TAB" key behaves as it should. We are using Excel 2003, v 11, SP3.
