can't remove a folder because it says it doesn't exist

I had WD SmartWare installed on a hard drive. Didn't want it so I deleted it. Or so I thought. I am left with a folder called WD SmartWare.swstor (seems to be part of the original backup which I didn't want) which I cannot remove because wind7 says it no longer exists. I can rename it (which I did, to "unable to del" and still can't delete it. I tried the command prompt and Run as Administrator but when I type "del WD SmartWare.swstor" it says: "Could Not Find J:\WD" (J is the letter of the hard drive). So I can't delete it in explorer and I can't delete it using the command prompt.

What am I missing here? The folder isn't taking up any space (it has about 12 levels of folders with one 3kb file in the bottom folder, which I can't delete either) but I just want to get rid of it.

Open a command prompt as administrator. Navigate to the and at the command prompt the parent folder, type:

    rd "unable to del" /s
