Lost Outlook 2010 Email??

I downloaded e-mail this morning, and it was showing several hundred e-mails coming. But when it was done, the Inbox only showed some 150 or so.

I've look everywhere -- except *obviously* where they are -- and can find them nowhere. How can I search for them? I tried the Outlook Search bar, putting in "Received:10/24/2011" but ended up with all kinds of e-mail not from today.

I checked my rules to make sure they weren't being moved somewhere, but there was nothing there.

Not in the Junk folder?

Does your current Inbox view have any kind of filter on it? You could try changing to a different view or reset your default view.

If you leave messages on the server and compare what is in your Inbox with what is on the server, can you spot a pattern?

You haven't, by any chance, clicked at the top so that all today's emails are hidden 'beneath' one of those + expansion box characters that you need to click on? Awfully easy to do this!

I just found it...It was a rule buried away that was marking everything "read" as it came in.

Duh...
