Force Excel to open separate windows

I really need to have separate Excel files open in separate windows. I only have one monitor, but it would save so much time and effort to be able to compare two files side by side.

I have Excel 2007 running on Win XP Pro, SP 3.

I've seen some older explanations for older versions (8 to 10 years ago), but I thought there might be a newer answer. Or a really easy one.

I am not sure if you want side by side WB in one instance of Excel or 2 instances of Excel with one WB in each.

The following from Microsoft may be of some assistance

    Thanks, duthiet.

I'm thinking that I'll just go with remembering to open Excel first and then opening a second file. That will keep it simple, although I still don't understand why this isn't a one-click option in Excel
