Flash now available for IE9 64 bit

    FINALLY

I've been viewing flash content in IE9's 64 bit version of the browser now for the last few days without issue.

Now if Microsoft will only get off it's duff and make a 64 bit version of Silverlight.

Adobe Flash Player 11.0.1.152 (7.81 MB)
The above link is for the installer, not the full 7.81 MB download.
Don't forget to "uncheck" the free Google toolbar

Been using 64 Bit Flash for a while. Now I choose either 32 Bit IE or 64 Bit IE and both seem to work effectively for me. I even enabled 64 Bit mode in IE 10 (Win 8 DP) and Flash works there.

Yea flash has had a 64 bit version for quite awhile, do not know why this is considered current news. I have been using the 10.xx version and before that the beta version and all worked in IE 9

The release version is very recent, I think, thus the post.

Release version has only been out for less than a month I believe. Yes I also used Flash Squared (I think this is what they called the beta) but it was somewhat buggy. The released version seems very stable.

Yes it is. Normally I'm not too interested in flash content. if I need to see something in flash I'll just copy the link and open it in the 32 bit version of the browser.
I've previously used the 64 bit version of the browser almost exclusively.

I notice that in IE Options you can't make the 64 bit version your default browser....
    Why not?

As of yet the 64 Bit IE can't be used by default. Perhaps MS still considers it a work on progress. It's an easy process to place a shortcut to the 64 Bit IE on your desktop. Then with one click you are using the 64 Bit IE.

If you do this with 64-bit IE you see a message that says "Internet Explorer (64-bit) cannot be the default browser". The "Make Default" button is disabled.

Thanks Clint, but if I don't intend to use IE 9 64-bit should I install anyway?

I believe with windows 7 it's already installed.
It would be in Programs as Internet Explorer 64
