    Too LOUD or too QUIET.

Has anyone heard of a program that can control all audio played in a PC to keep a constant (but adjustable) volume (decibel) level regardless of what program is being used? For instance, I set my volume for comfortable listening to an iTunes song then go to a YouTube video and either I can't hear it or it blasts me out of my chair. It would be great if a program could control this problem. Sort of like commercials on TV being much louder than a normal broadcast.

    Thanks for any help,
    Larry

Hey RR, I don't mean to hijack this but I have the same audio control as you and I only see Speakers and System Sounds columns.

I don't use Fire-fox and WLM but shouldn't I have the columns for Internet Explorer and Thunderbird that I use?

A very very good question. I made the image on my laptop without paying too much attention to what was displayed and get the same items on my desktop.

Well, I tried it with Thunderbird open and it then shows the mail program but it doesn't show IE...

No big deal, when I read the topic I just thought I would add my 2 cents...

I tried to find the Volume Mixer you showed but mine only shows Speakers and System Sounds. Adjusting those two doesn't seem to do at all what I want to do. If I play a video on IE or a tune via iTunes I would like the sound level to be the same on each and in repetitions of either unless I change the overall volume myself. I hope I'm explaining it well enough. If I need to try to explain better just let me know.
