Please Help .....Dynamic Named Range (Excel '97)

I am trying to use a Dynamic Named Range in a chart ... we want the chart to be pre-defined and update as new data is received. The # of records in the data will change. I set the Dynamic Range up and in an of it self .. it selects the correct range of data. When I use the dynamic named range in the source data of the chart .. as soon as the chart is created the source data reverts to the "actual" range selected by the dynamic range. Therefore, when the data is updated/replaced it'll not be using a correct range. I've also tried to put the offset/counta syntax directly into the source data field in the chart but it too reverts. What am I doing wrong ... and how do I get around this?

Thanks in advance for your expertise and help.
    Chris

Thanks once again Andrew .... I knew I'd done this before but could not figure out what I had done ... I must have misplaced Rodney's info, I had some of it but not this particular one..... it won't happen again ... this is exactly what I need. Thank You!

    Hi Chris,

    Maybe my Autochrt.zip at:
    http://www.bmsltd.ie/mvp
    will give you some clues?
Also, on that site on Stephen's Excel page there are some other chart files that should help.
