    Office 97 Installation problems (Office 97 SR2)

I am in the process of upgrading my computer to a new mother board (Intel D815EEA2), 256 MB RAM and hard drive (Western Digital 20 GB). I've installed Win98SE properly and then I went to install Office97. All of the applications; Word, Excel and Power Point work correctly, Access will not run. I receive an error message that states "Microsoft Access can't start because there is no license for it on this machine" in an information box.

I have licensed copies of both Win98SE and Office97. I did not run into this problem when I initially installed everything into the old mother board/hard drive combination five years ago.

    Any idea about what's happening?

Re: Office 97 Installation problems (Office 97 SR2)

Hello there. This is my first post and could be my last if I mess it up! I had the same problem on my laptop (Win95b) after re-installing Office 97 Pro (full version) and then SR-1 and SR-2 which on the original installation had been straightforward. Helen Feddema at WAW pointed me to AcLicn97.exe which worked perfectly. Hope this gives encouragement if nothing else. Apologies if I have broken any rules or breached etiquette!
