    Unread Mail

When I log in to Windows XP (home), it tells me I have 1 unread mail message and it's not updating correctly. I could have nothing unread or more than 1 thing unread, it always says 1. I've read about how to disable this feature, but I would like to have it if it would work right. Can anyone help?

Where does it tell you about the unread mail? I installed Windows XP and I don't get any such message.

On the welcome screen, where you click your logon name. If you have your mail setup to use Outlook Express, it should tell you if you have any unread mail in your mailbox.

Thanks. Microsoft says it only works if you use Outlook Express or Windows Messaging. I'm using regular-old-Outlook. My daughter uses AOL and their new version 7 also seems to be able to do this! (I guess AOL forgot to tell Microsoft. . . .)
