    opening .gpi files

    Hi All.
I have W7 32. Works fine except that I can't open .gpi files types. These are typically with GPS POI's.
Have looked on net & it seems to indicate that there could be a registry problem.
I cant tell you that it did work cos I cant remember ever having opened .gpi's before.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have a program installed that can handle a .gpi such as Gamin Mapsource? If so, right click on the file, scroll to open with, and click on Choose default program. If not, you need to install a program that handles .gpi.

Try downloading EasyGPS. I know it handles .gpx files but I'm not sure about .gpi.

    Smile Opening .gpi files

Thanks guys for the info. I am not fully sorted but am now on the right track again.
I cant use Garmin Mapsource as I dont have a licence, even though I have an old Nuvi 660.
Easy GPS does as you say. GPX not gpi. No one seems to use .gpi but is supposed to install to Google Earth.
