    XP and Roadrunner

I installed XP Home version over 98SE just fine. All went well (crossing my fingers and toes as I did so) but there are a couple of annoying problems (but only one at a time for here.)

I use Road Runner on a Cable modem here in Orlando and it works just fine for E-mail, IE, Netscape, etc. XP, however, refuses to "See" an internet connection for it's internal help section. If I click on "Get help from MIcrosoft" it reponds that I need to have a network connection. I do, but somehow this is unrecognized at this level.

    Any suggesstions?

    Re: XP and Roadrunner

Thanks, Leif. To answer your question, yes and no. It went through the process and it hosed things up big time. It kept asking me if I wanted to dial up, then go off line, etc. I figured I'd gotten into worse trouble than before so I rebooted, cleared everything out of the Dial-up and VPN settings and, lo and behold, it started working. Magic! Don't question a gift from the Gods!

    Thanks,

    Al

I'm using XP with Roadrunner -- and I also found that it works if those settings are empty! Go figure.
