    Question IE 9 Add-On - "Shockwave Flash"

Under Toolbars & Extensions I found: Adobe Systems Inc. >Shockwave Flash Object, which is enabled and described as an AciveX Control.

    Questions:

    Isn't the new name Adobe?

Why is the name Shockwave being used for the extension??

Is that a mistake or the way it's supposed to appear?

If you have a flash add on for IE, that's the name. I think that's how Adobe decided to call it, quite simply.

Shockwave was developed first, and then Flash. The combined name could be considered historical baggage.

(The Shockwave player has a different name that doesn't contain Flash.)

It seems strange to use two different names for one product, but if that's the way it is than that's the way it is.

    Thanks Rarib for your remark.
